The bridge between patients and research

Clariness runs ClinLife®, one of the world's largest patient-recruitment platforms — the quiet bridge between people searching for answers and the clinical trials that need them. It has welcomed close to a million patients across 40+ countries.

I designed the experiences that carry someone from a first, uncertain search all the way to signing up for a study — and I extended ClinLife's design system so every new flow felt like part of the same trustworthy whole.

The challenge

A journey people abandon at the smallest hesitation

The people on the other side of the screen are often anxious and unwell, reading unfamiliar medical language in their own tongue. One confusing question, one intimidating form, and they're gone — and a trial loses a participant who might have benefited.

So the real brief was emotional, not just functional: take the fear and friction out of a deeply personal decision, and make it hold true across dozens of countries, languages and regulations — without ever feeling cold or clinical.

Designed around the patient, not the protocol

Clinical trials are written for regulators. People aren't. My job was to translate one into the other — gently.

Rather than start over, I extended ClinLife's design system so new flows shipped fast and stayed consistent across markets.
